Heute Morgen stand wieder Jogging und Schwimmen auf meinem Programm… Ich habe vor fast 25 Jahren nach der Geburt von Melanie damit begonnen. Anfangs bedeutete es einfach etwas Zeit für mich selber zu haben, aus dem Haus zu kommen und etwas Sport zu treiben – heute ist es ein wichtiger Bestandteil meines Lebens geworden! Dass ich es seit so langer Zeit beibehalten konnte hat sicher auch damit zu tun, dass ich nicht jeden Tag gehe(n muss), sondern 3 mal die Woche - und dafür finde ich immer Zeit: überall und auch im Winter im Schnee! Wenn es die Möglichkeit zum Schwimmen gibt (wie zuhause im Hallwilersee, in den steige ich ab ca. 18  Grad, im Sommer kann er 10 Grad mehr erreichen), dann nehme ich diese gerne wahr, am liebsten im Meer oder in einem See.

This morning jogging and swimming was on my programme... I started with it after the birth of Melanie almost 25 years ago. First it meant simply to have some time for myself, to get out of the house and do some exercise - today it has become an important part of my life! I guess that I could keep it up for so long, has something to do with the fact, that I do not (have to) go every day but 3 times a week: and I always find time, everywhere and even in winter in the snow! If there is the opportunity to go for a swim (at home in the Lake of Hallwil into which I go from around 18 centigrade, in summer it can reach about 10 centigrade more), then I take advantage of it, preferably in the ocean or a lake.

Um 8:30 Uhr hatte ich mit Kathleen im Italia Coffee House (https://www.iloveitaliacoffee.com) abgemacht. Ich hab sie dort schon einige Male angetroffen und so  kamen wir ins Gespräch... Kathleen absolviert übrigens hier eine Sprachschule, ist Deutsche und wohnt in der Schweiz…

I met Kathleen at the Italia Coffee House (https://www.iloveitaliacoffee.com) at 8:30. We encountered there already several times and came into conversation... By the way, Kathleen is attending a language school here, she is German and lives in Switzerland...

Um 13 Uhr machte ich mich dem Strand entlang Richtung Norden, denn ich hatte eine Stunde später einen Friseurtermin im Island Cuts. Ich rechnete extra Zeit ein und nahm leere Plastiksäcke mit um auch hier die Strände zu säubern… es vergingen keine 20 Minuten und der erste Sack war voll!

At 1 pm I walked along the beach direction north as I had an hairdresser appointment at Island Cuts an hour later. I calculated extra time and took empty plastic bags with me to clean the beaches here too... not even 20 minutes later my first bag was full!

Kurz vor 14 Uhr traf ich im Island Cuts (https://www.facebook.com/islandcuts246) ein, wo Ursula bereits auf mich wartete. Ursula ist ursprünglich aus Deutschland, hat aber 25 Jahre in Kanada gewohnt und wohnt nun schon fast so lange auf Barbados… Während sie meine grauen Ansätze kaschierte, vertieften wir uns in spannende Gespräche und hatten eine gute Zeit miteinander. : )

Shortly before 2 pm I arrived at Island Cuts (https://www.facebook.com/islandcuts246), where Ursula was already waiting for me. Ursula is originally from Germany, but has lived in Canada for 25 years and now lives in Barbados since almost as long... While she was concealing my grey hairline we delved into exiting conversations and had a good time. : )

Die Sonne geht hier so um 17:30 Uhr unter und viele Leute zelebrieren das mit einem Sundowner… so trafen wir Dave und Erving im Crystal Waters (https://www.facebook.com/crystalwatersguesthouse) und genossen einige Rums & Cola bzw. Cranberrysaft mit interessanten Gesprächen. Da Chris noch vieles zu erledigen hatte, begleitete ich Dave und Erving zum Abendessen ins Mojo (https://www.facebook.com/mojobarbarbados)…

The sun sets here around 5:30 pm and many people celebrate it with a sundowner... so we met Dave and Erving at Crystal Waters (https://www.facebook.com/crystalwatersguesthouse) and enjoyed some rum & cokes resp. cranberry juices with interesting conversations. Since Chris still had to finish off much work, I joined Dave and Erving for dinner at Mojo’s (https://www.facebook.com/mojobarbarbados)...
