Heute Morgen habe ich
sogar bis 7:30 Uhr geschlafen - kein Wunder wenn man so spät zu Bett
geht! : )
This morning I even slept until 7:30 am - no wonder when I got to bed so late! : )

Kurz vor 10 Uhr
machten wir uns auf zur Carlisle Bay um einem historischen Moment beizuwohnen:
Dem feierlichen Stapellauf der SV Ruth. Der Zweimaster wurde nach ca. 100 Jahre alten kanadischen Plänen während 11 Jahren
auf dem Strand gebaut und heute ins
Wasser gelassen...
Shortly before 10 am we made our way to Carlisle Bay to witness a historic moment: The ceremonial launching of the SV Ruth. The schooner was built on the beach according to 100 years old Canadian plans during 11 years and today it was launched into the water...

Danach fuhren wir
quer durch die Insel durch die Zuckerrohrfelder an die wilde Ostküste. Hier
trifft der Atlantik mit mächtiger Wucht auf die Karibik und viele Surfer nutzen
die grossen Wellen zu ihrem Vorteil aus - ansonsten ist es absolut unmöglich zu
baden hier. Aber wie waren weder wegen dem einen noch dem andern hier, sondern
genossen ein fantastisches Mittagessen in absolut genialer Atmosphäre im
Hotel/Restaurant Atlantis (https://www.atlantishotelbarbados.com) in Bathsheba!
Thereafter we drove across the island through sugar cane fields to the wild east coast. This is where the Atlantic hammers on to the Caribbean with mighty powers and where many surfers take advantage of the big waves - but it is absolutely impossible to swim here. However, we neither looked for the one nor the other, but enjoyed a fantastic lunch in an absolutely brilliant atmosphere at the Hotel / Restaurant Atlantis (https://www.atlantishotelbarbados.com) in Bathsheba!

Zurück im Ocean Reef
nahm ich eine Abkühlung im Pool und danach spazierten wir für einem Sundowner
zum Chrystal Waters (https://www.facebook.com/crystalwatersguesthouse) - wie immer mit atemberaubender Sonnenuntergangsstimmung...
und ein weiterer Tag im Paradies neigte sich dem Ende zu...

day in paradise drew to an end...
