Heute Morgen war ich
kurz nach 8 Uhr bereits unterwegs... nach Bathsheba an die
Ostküste. Neben Bewegung an der frischen Luft wollten in die nördlichen Strände
inspizieren und wanderte 2 Stunden meist auf dem Strand. Ich war trotzdem froh
hatte ich meine Laufschuhe an, denn immer wieder ging es über eine Strecke sehr
spitze Steine.
Hier an den einsamen Stränden im Norden, wo sich nur die ganz verrückten Surfer verirren, gibt es sehr viel Arbeit für clean & clear! Ich
kann mir kaum vorstellen, dass die Besucher hier diese Berge hinterlassen...
ich denke es ist eher so wie an der Atlantikküste Marokkos, wo all der Müll von
der offenen See (Fischer?) angeschwemmt wird...
This morning I was already on the way shortly after 8 am... to Bathsheba on the East Coast. In addition to get exercise in the fresh air I wanted to inspect the northern beaches and walked two hours mostly on the beach. Still I was glad I wore my sneakers, because I had to cross stretches with some very sharp rocks.
Here on the secluded beaches in the north, where only the most craziest surfers get lost, there is a lot of work for clean & clear! I can hardly imagine, that visitors leave these mountains of rubbish... I think it's more like on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, where all the garbage is washed ashore from the open sea (fishermen?)...

Das Wetter war mir
hold: Es war bewölkt mit vielen kurzen Regengüsse - so verbrannte
ich mich wenigstens nicht!
The weather was nice to me: It was overcast with many short showers - so at least I did not get burnt!

Um 12:30 Uhr
traf ich in der Bottom Bay ein und begann meine mitgebrachten Säcke zu füllen.
Es vergingen keine 5 Minuten, da gesellte sich der neugierige Bobbie hinzu...
Auf die Frage weshalb ich das mache, antwortete ich, dass ich es gerne sauber
und schön habe... und zudem sieht diese hübsche Bucht doch viel schöner ohne
Abfall aus!? Er stimmte mir zu und eine Stunde später hatten wir 3 grosse Säcke
gefüllt, die wir oben bei der Treppe beim Container deponierten. Ich erwähnte
schon gestern, dass es hier sehr viel Glas und Scherben hat und heute zog ich
mir doch tatsächlich eine tiefe Schnittwunde zu! : (
At 12:30 pm I arrived at Bottom Bay and began to fill my bags I had taken with me. It took less than 5 minutes until curious Bobbie turned up... When he asked me why I do this, I replied that I like it clean and beautiful... and the pretty bay looks even much nicer without all the waste!? He agreed with me and an hour later we had filled 3 big bags, which we deposed at the top of the stairs at the container. I already mentioned yesterday that there is a lot of (broken) glass on the beach here and today one actually cut me very seriously! : (

Zurück im Ocean Reef
hatte ich ein grosses Bedürfnis mich gründlich zu säubern und tauchte für
einige Minuten ins türkisfarbene Meer... Später dann konnte mich Chris noch
überreden eine Runde mit dem Kayak zu fahren! Es war mein erstes Mal und
obschon ich auch mit Rudern keine Erfahrung hatte, schlug ich mich tapfer...
nur der schmerzhafte Schnitt in meiner rechten Hand liess aus der Runde eine
kleine werden...
Back at Ocean Reef I felt a great urge to clean myself thoroughly and dipped for a few minutes into the turquoise sea... Later, Chris was even able to persuade me for a round with the kayak! It was my first time and although I had no experience with rowing, I put up a good fight... only the painful cut in my right hand made of the round a small one...

Zum Abendessen fuhren
wir nach Oistins ins Chillin & Grillin (https://chillinandgrillinbar.com) im Fischmarkt. Ich war hungrig wie
ein Bär und verschlang einen grossen Redsnapper mit Süsskartoffeln, Kartoffeln,
Kochbananen... alles vom Grill und einen Salat - ein super Essen mit
sehr sympathischer Bedienung!

For dinner we went to
Oistins at Grillin & Chillin (https://chillinandgrillinbar.com) at the fish market. I was hungry as a wolf and
devoured a large Redsnapper with sweet potatoes, potatoes, plantains... everything from the grill and a salad - a great meal with a wonderful service!
